It is possible to locate and purchase property directly from the current owner, sometimes at 20%-35% off the market value. The buyer will need to locate the pre-foreclosed property themselves, usually through careful study of publicly available court documents. In effect buying at this stage will prevent the property reaching the next stage, Real Estate Auction Sales.
